WHAT HAVE YOU NOTICED?

You can start with this.

You do not need the technical term. These details can help us understand your concern.

Hard starting

Explain whether the engine turns over, starts and stalls, or takes longer than usual to start.

Rough running

Mention a rough idle, hesitation or a change in the way the vehicle accelerates.

Warning messages or a new noise

Share the exact dashboard message and when it appeared. Describe a noise in your own words.

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR VEHICLE

Start with the symptom. Work toward the cause.

An engine concern can involve more than one system. A warning light or a rough idle is useful information, but it does not identify a repair by itself. Tell us whether the change happens at startup, after the engine warms up, while idling or under load. If another shop has already checked it, bring the written findings so we can discuss the work you need.

Prepare for your quote

BEFORE YOUR VISIT

A useful engine-repair quote needs a clear starting point.

Have the year, make, model, engine and mileage ready if you know them. Recent maintenance, a previous diagnosis and any changes before the problem began can help the conversation. Some engine repairs need an inspection before parts, labor and timing can be discussed with confidence.

If the vehicle is overheating, shows a low-oil-pressure warning or is running severely poorly, stop somewhere safe and check its owner’s manual. Call before attempting the trip to the shop.

Ask about engine repair

Before you arrange the work.

Do you repair gas engines as well as diesel engines?

Yes. Engine repair is part of our general automotive and diesel work. Cars, SUVs and gas trucks are welcome alongside diesel vehicles.

Does a check-engine light mean I need a new engine?

A warning light alone cannot tell you that. Share the message, symptoms and any diagnostic results you already have. The repair depends on the underlying cause, not the light by itself.

Can I get an engine-repair price by phone?

We can discuss the concern and the information needed for a quote. An inspection may be necessary before the repair can be priced. Ask what that inspection involves and whether a fee applies.
